Description

tain. Captain Jones served for a time as lieutenant, as he was in the army
almost from the start, and his good fortune came as welcome news to his
many friends and admirers at the old school.
Edmund O'Donnell, Academic '18, is at home at Lee* Illinois.
Robert Cullinan is engaged in the printing business in Des Moines with
great success.
Rev. William Guinan, College 1896, is pastor of St.
Joseph's church, Parnell, Iowa. During the past year
he has been engaged in building a fine new parsonage
there. Father Guinan's ability in this work has been
fully shown by his success in erecting two large
churches, one at Albia and another at Washington, Iowa.
Rev. H. J. Hogan, College 1899, has charge of St.
Patrick's church, Ottumwa, Iowa.
Very Rev. William P. Shannahan, College 1896, and
president 1907-1915, is stationed at St. Patrick's
church, Iowa City, Iowa.
Very Rev. J. T. Flannagan, V. G., president of the
college, 1891-1907, is now pastor of Sacred Heart Cathedral, Davenport, Iowa.
Very Rev. A. J. Schulte, president 1886-1891, is
at St. Mary's, Iowa City, Iowa.
Rev. Frank Barry, former professor of St. Ambrose, who since September, 1918, has been stationed
with the First U. S. Cavalry at Fort Douglas, Arizona,
is expected to return soon. Those who knew him have
long been looking forward to his return with happy anticipation, while those of us who know him only by the
praise given him by the "old fellows" watch for his coming with no less expectation.
Joseph Kenny, Academic '16, after graduating with honors from De-
Paul University, Chicago, entered Kenrick Seminary, Webster Groves, Missouri, last September. Mr. Kenny's home is at Keokuk, Iowa.
James McCarthy, a student of St. Ambrose during the late '90's is now
a successful business man in his home town, Keokuk. He is one of the partners of the Evers, McCarthy Co. Clothing Store of that city.
