Whitehead once said, "intellectual people, clearheaded and narrowminded, cause many catastrophies." At St.
Ambrose a true temple of intellectuals in the guise of the Po-Am Club emerged this year and caused numberous
catastrophies. Under the leadership of "Big John" Dulin, "Doc" Kelly and Joe McMahon and the promise of "fun
through creativity," the Po-Am's conducted an extensive recruiting drive and soon became the number one social
club on campus. Among their many activities were the unforgetable Homecoming float, their Mid-Winter hanging
and the pig roast late in the second semester.
