THE REGISTRAR'S OFFICE
Long after students leave the college, as graduates or otherwise, they
call upon the services of the Registrar and office personnel. Transcripts
hold a high priority. Government
agencies, school boards, and business concerns frequently request the assistance of the office in hiring a former student. Ambrosians learn to know this office soon and well. Here the class arrangements were completed and the Selective Service records were filled in, and sent to the local boards. After May registration for the next full year, the real work begins for Miss Monholland and her staff. With the addition of more IBM equipment, the efficiency of the office has increased. Thus the Registrar and her personnel prove themselves to be true artists-- putting order, where order was not.
THE PLACEMENT BUREAU
The principal function of the St.
Ambrose College Placement Bureau
is to help St. Ambrose students and
alumni to get the employment that
is a fulfillment for them.
The Bureau offers advice on employment procedure and helps by
providing lists of potential employers
to the students. In its work of
counselling the Bureau uses various
tests, such as general intelligence,
aptitude, and achievement. A complete file is made for every student.
Every graduating senior, irrespective
of his major and post-graduate intentions, will complete a Placement
Bureau credential file.
Opportunity for part-time jobs are
also available for students through
the Bureau. The eligibility for students for these jobs is dependent on
the student's needs of additional income and that the employment will
not seriously effect his academic
standing.
The personal assistance given to
the students and alumni is free of
charge.
