REVEREND
J. E. KOKJOHN
Vice President
Reverend Joseph E. Kokjohn,
newly appointed Vice-President of
St. Ambrose, succeeds Rev. F. J. Mc-
Mahan, who retains his duties as
Dean of the College.
Rev. Kokjohn received his B.A. degree from St. Ambrose College, his
M.A. from the Catholic University
of America, and his doctorate in
English from the State University of
Iowa.
After his ordination in 1954, Father Kokjohn was assigned to St.
Anthony's Church in Davenport, for
a year, during which he also taught
English and Religion at St. Ambrose
Academy. He served as registrar of
the Academy from 1955 to 1957.
After receiving his doctorate degree in 1961, Father Kokjohn was
assigned to the College, where he
was also Rector of East Hall.
In September, 1964, Father Kokjohn was elected to the Administrative Council of the College. He also
serves as the chairman of the Board
of Discipline. Father Kokjohn is a
member of the American Association of University Professors, Modern Language Association, and the
Iowa College English Conference.
