new homepage is up with alternating images.
Send images for the homepage to Dan Stout; he will size them as
necessary.

task force will be responsible for drafting questions and identify sample population
for surveys and focus groups.

track.

Nancy will mount PowerPoint
presentation on IHDC website that can be used to explain the program.
Metadata
update
- Coverage Temporal field
to include categories/subcategories identified in the Iowa History Online.
- Committee to add
metadata templates for audio/video and maps.
- Committee will be a
standing committee to address issues as they arise.
- Send issues/concerns to
Claudia.
Content
DM training
April
20 for same participants as first session—participants will be emailed and asked
what they would like to have covered. May include basics of scanning and storage of data, basic elements/functions to look for in a scanner
(see technical specs. below).
Technical Specs.
Software, scanners,
CPUs — what’s available, what to
look for, minimum requirements. (Dan is working on this).
Scanning
specs.—resolution, bit depth, quality control,
etc. (Nancy has).
Storage specs.—storage of archival master,
backing up data, maintenance of data, etc.
Nancy will determine if task
force is needed.
Start
up issues
U of I IT will not
allow FTP. If this does not change, Nancy is looking at
using the Library
School’s server since FTP
is possible.
